KTL was one of the local sub-consultant companies involved in carrying out the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) associated with the full field development of the South Lokichar crude oil basin, Kenya. The activities carried by the company included power and water supply design, developing the decommissioning and abandonment plan, logistics and security philosophy, safety specifications, local content plan and waste management philosophy among others.

The project scope included construction of a 110 MT LPG storage and cylinder filling, The cylinder filling facility is capable of filling up to 100 cylinders per hour, In and out cylinders storage yard, Lubes warehouse, truck offloading and loading area , Construction of the firefighting system at Nairobi National oil terminal.KTL scope of work involved preliminary and detailed Engineering designs, Equipment specifications, Tender documentation, Tender analysis, Environmental impact assessment, Obtained statutory approvals and construction supervision.

Replacement of 450km Multi-products White Oil Pipeline - Joint Venture Kurrent Technologies Ltd. and Shengli Engineering Company Ltd. KTL Scope of work included engineering design, tendering, construction supervision and project management. The company also carried out demand study for the project, fire risk assessment and Environment and Social Impact Assessment.

KTL took part in the design, preparation of cost estimates for construction works, obtaining council approvals and supervision of the construction of bulky white oil storage plant in Mombasa. The project consisted of a tank Farm Concept Design for a mounded bullet LPG tank farm with 4 Truck loading points. The tank farm had 4 x 2000MT LPG tanks mounded under Earth and concrete. KTL successfully completed the pipeline concept design, risk assessment of the tank farm, approval of the concept from all the regulatory bodies (Change of User, Approval of building plans by county government) for this Project.

We were contracted by a multinational oil marketing company to remodel and upgrade their key service station in Mombasa. KTL successfully designed and supervised construction of 200,000 liters underground fuel storage tank with seven truck fueling bays , three fueling bays for light vehicles, service bay, tyre centre for trucks, ample parking area for trucks and an environmental friendly waste management facility with bio-digesters.

The LPG filling facility comprises of a carousel filling package for 6kg and 12 kg cylinders, fully packaged with weighing scales, Pumps with associated piping, valves and explosive proof electrical equipment. The package has infeed and outgoing conveyors and is capable of filling up to 80 cylinder per hour.KTL scope involved equipment specification, installation supervision, participated in test and commission of the cylinder filling facility.
